Why do I need an ID Check?

It is a legal requirement for healthcare providers to verify the identity of their patients when requesting prescription medication via an online service. In the same way that you must provide ID to first register with your GP we are required BY LAW to carry out the same identity check on patients when they first register with us.

The check is performed when you submit your registration form – and will be required ONCE ONLY. Existing customers who have not yet provided ID (as this is a new level of security we have been instructed to implement) will be required to do so when they place their next order.

What kind of photo ID can I use?

We accept any of the following documents provided they have not expired

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence (full or provisional)
  • National Identity Card
  • Residence Permit (front and rear, as date of birth on the back)

Simply take a photograph of your ID and upload it during your registration process or login to your account to complete it

What happens to my photo ID?

When your ID is uploaded it is encrypted (for added security) whilst waiting for a member of the team to review and confirm your identity. We need to see the following information on the document

  • Photograph
  • Name
  • Date of birth (on the rear side of the Residence Permit)
  • Document number
  • Document expiry date


When your ID is marked as verified, the image is permanently deleted from the server, and your ID verification will be marked as SUCCESSFUL.

I’m not a UK citizen, can I still use the service?

Provided you are over 18 you can use our service – international documents can be used for your photo ID check.

I don’t have a valid ID

Unfortunately, you will not be able to use our service to request prescription weight loss treatment. However, your local GP surgery may be able to help you.

I don’t have my ID with me right now

Simply login again when you have your ID and follow the prompts to complete the process.

Has my ID been verified?

You can see the status of your ID check in your patient dashboard when you are logged in;

  • Required – you must upload your photo ID to use our prescribing service
  • Successful – you don’t need to do anything else
  • Pending – we are waiting for a response from the verification team
  • Unsuccessful – we will send you a message with any steps required
